Memories
Ever since childhood Rebecka has been fascinated with art and jewelry – the color, texture, beauty and the comfort they can bring. From playing dress-up in her grandmother's clothes and jewels to making her own jewelry to wear to high school Rebecka has always been inspired by the shapes, designs and colors of nature.

Passion
Her desire to create urged her to take a metalsmithing class in college, where she made her first cast sterling silver ring. During a month long art study in Scotland; a shop owner complimented Rebecka on her ring. He expressed interest in selling her design in his store and she was thrilled that her talent was recognized and even more so that it may be marketable. This is when the idea was tucked away in her mind for future endeavors.

After graduating with a B.F.A from Longwood University in Graphic Design Rebecka moved to Richmond to start her career as a graphic designer but continued to pursue her passion of designing jewelry as a hobby. “I went to local bead store and fell in love with the various colors and cuts of stones and glass beads. They looked like candy... so yummy! That’s when I started making jewelry for family and friends.” She started making designs with recycled glass beads that were made from coke bottles in Africa. Working with the crude and primitive qualities of the beads intrigued her.

Talent
After receiving numerous compliments from people at work and strangers on the street, Rebecka decided to pursue her dream of becoming a jewelry designer. She began working art and jewelry shows for an acquaintance. Soon Rebecka was asked to showcase her own designs which encouraged her to enter other shows that concentrated on quality and design as opposed to the more craft-oriented shows.

Not long after, Rebecka started selling to local boutiques, museums, galleries and retail establishments across the nation. After launching her website Rebecka has enjoyed selling her wares all over the nation and has even hosted an electronic trunk show via the internet which allows women to shop from the comfort of their own homes while the host gets credit towards jewelry.

Desire
Rebecka’s goal is to enhance the art of jewelry making by becoming a metalsmith, working with sterling and various other metals which will allow her to create designs inspired by nature, fashion, memories and life experiences.

Inspiration
As a cancer survivor, life has presented Rebecka with many challenges and triumphs from which she draws inspiration. Her style combines a retro feel with a contemporary flair. She views her art as a gift that perhaps will become family heirlooms bringing joy, passions and wonderful warm memories to new generations.
